Sarah Stout earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science and Global Studies from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, with minors in Arabic and Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs and a certificate in Public Policy and Analysis. During undergrad, she received the Critical Language Scholarship to study Arabic and later spent a year at the Asian Community and Cultural Center in Lincoln helping advance the mission of serving immigrants and refugees in the community. She is now entering her third year at the University of Wisconsin Law School, where her coursework has focused heavily on criminal law and procedure.
As a Law Clerk, Sarah conducts legal research and writing for both criminal and civil matters, with a particular focus on criminal appeals. Last summer, she interned with the Wisconsin State Public Defender’s office in Baraboo, where she got to know clients as individuals and dug into the legal research needed to advocate for their rights.
The only girl among five brothers, Sarah spends her free time hiking, hosting dinner parties, and playing strategy board games with friends.
